The Word of God "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." (Psalm 119:105 NIV) The scroll represents the Law and the Prophets, through whom the Lord continues to speak in the books of the Old Testament. The Book symbolizes the New Testament and our salvation in Christ by his Gospel. The cross is a reminder to us all of the saving power of the Word, Jesus Christ our Lord.
