The Lord's Supper "This cup is the new covenant in my blood" (1 Cor. 11:25 NIV) The loaf of Bread symbolizes the body of Christ we receive in, with and under the bread at Holy Communion. Likewise, the grapes symbolize the blood of Christ we receive in, with and under the wine that is offered during the Lord's Supper. The chalice is a reminder that our Lord binds us to himself and one another in the Lord's Supper.
